Alright this is not the post you should be reading in your RSS reader.
Justin Palmer just merged his new design into trunk which is dubbed Azure.
I really love justin’s work; It looks awesome. Make sure you head over to his weblog and send him some mad props.

Sweet! Very nice work Justin…

It looks very nice. Anyway, would it be possible to have an Azure variation based on red? With kubrick it was very simple to change the look, but this template seems much more complicated.
Many of us, the people using Typo, follow the “redness” way of Ruby ;) Keep the good work.

dorogoy, yeah, was thinking something similar.
my site has a ‘redish’ theme based on kubrick.. maybe i’ll play with this a big… but I’m not in a big hurry to switch my design yet.

Not bad, but I liked the older, smoother one more.

I really like the theme! The way lige search works is now better in place. I think it will help typo to find it’s place.

I really like the new look. It’s really cool!

I’m really looking forward to upgrading my blog to Typo 2.0 and Azure!

In the next version, I think it would be great if you could choose between a few different themes in the admin interface and easily download/install or create your own to post online.
And this is a little off topic, but to make the typo install go a little more painless, it would be a good idea to include the socket in the database.yml an d include a note about it in the README as not everyone uses the default path of /tmp/mysql.sock. This was the one little snag that caught me during the install process. Checked the logs, saw it was referencing the wrong path and restarted apache to get it working again (fastCGI) but it might not be that obvious for other people.
Cheers, Good work.

What is the supported way of doing new themes with typo? Do we have to overwrite the layouts, or is there some mechanism in place for quickly switching between them?
Justin 28 Apr 07:23
Victor: Currently to change the structure you have to overwrite the views. You can however change all of the style by editing the stylesheet in use.
Some sort of template system may be needed in the future, but there hasn’t been any firm discussion on this yet.
Dorogy, Robby: If you guys need a red version, it wouldn’t be that hard to create. Currently the design only consist of about 5 or so ‘blue/blueish’ graphics, the header, bullet, and the open/close blockquote graphics, spinner. I don’t mind creating a red variation of those if needed, the remaining colors can be changed using the stylesheet. Although it would be hard to call it Azure any more. :-)

Nice design. Just a suggestion… The spacing between paragraphs could be increased, not it seems everything is one big block of text (esp. for longer entries). I am using Firefox. This made it look better in my eyes:

Look’s beautiful. I agree with the others. It would be nice to be able to change color/themes in the admin panel. It wouldn’t be that hard. Just another entry into settings.

Older was more smoother… :(
