Unfortunately, much of the explanation on the page you linked to is incorrect. The record set returned by an outer join, for example, is portrayed as the complement of the record set returned by the corresponding inner join, (i.e., the sets share no records), but in fact the outer join’s set is a superset of the inner join’s. Related errors occur throughout the explanation.
