I have it on authority that working on something like Shopify is tons of fun. Now you can experience the thrill as well ;)
They give you a 30 days deadline which should be plenty. Considering that some people can write something like Shopify in C in a few days this should be plenty.

That’s insane! $500 for 30 days of fun work cloning Shopify. Sign me up! ;p

Awesome. What can you say. And that “C in a few days” quote… that’s Digg all the way. A thing of beauty! Boy I’d love to meet the programmer writing Shopify in C in a few days. No, wait… I think I’d rather meet the sane ones… the ones who use Rails!

Ha ha, oh and they’re invoking the ‘Expert Programmer Guarantee’ which means that if you want to bid on that project (up to a maximum of $500) you have to put your own money on the line…
I think the whole rent-a-coder thing is very questionable, a breeding ground for mediocrity. I may be wrong.
Hope business is going well!

After I clone basecamp this weekend, I’ll get right on that.

In C i hope :)

Nahh, do it right the first time, nothing but straight punchcard action.

Didn’t Beethoven compose his 9th in 30 days? Oh wait, it was almost 30 years.
Funny how no one has cloned that masterpiece. I guess it’s because it’s in D minor and not C.

Man, this just made my morning, Tobi.
I sure hope that $500 includes a budget for design, too.
