Tried it and loved it! And sad to see someone doing it, but I guess I am too slow; will catch up though, will catch up!
I also noticed it was done in Flash, I will try to use the OpenLazslo project to create something like this; at least that was my original intention before I saw this beauty; now I am more than desperate; b’cos I was my 4 yr old to learn it before she is 5; then we see how well it spreads when the screen is toucherable and things are projected; soon you will be able to use eye movements (heard about this like 3 yrs ago anyway, IBM and some uni tried it) to really move the cursor.
Do you remember this? Automan? A TV series? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084978/. This was my first dream for an eye moving cursor; and i think I was 8yrs when I saw this.
Tobias, thank you for the reference to this site. Removing clicking from our daily interface with computers reminds me of the strides that Nintendo is trying to do in the electronic gaming world with their new console the ‘Wii.’ Reinventing our interactions with technology, assuming it is a constructive and forward-thinking advance, might just change the way we do things.
Although, I must say, I still haven’t seen an alternative that is striking enough to truly replace the mouse/pad click.
Leslie Asamoa: So you want your 4 year old to learn a no click interface before a click interface? Thats a fascinating project!
Kevin: I’m extremely eager to try out the Wii, in fact i filled out my pre order yesterday. Its really amazing to see a commercial company innovating steady and as often as nintendo does.
